WHO WE ARE
From fighter aircraft and Navy ships to soldier systems, the Defence Materiel Organisation (DMO) is one of Australia’s largest program management, logistics and engineering services organisations. DMO has over 7,400 people in more than 70 locations throughout Australia and overseas. We are a civilian organisation responsible for acquiring and sustaining the equipment used by the men and women of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) – the ADF’s operational success depends on us.
Big Projects
DMO is involved in many of the largest, most demanding and leading edge projects in Australia. This includes: Navy ships and submarines; RAAF fighter aircraft; Army soldier systems and combat vehicles; and electronic warfare systems. With over 190 major and 100 minor projects, the variety of job and career opportunities is endless.
Big Budgets
If DMO were a private company it would be one of the largest on the Australian Stock Exchange. It has an annual budget of over $11.1 billion, and will manage over $115 billion worth of acquisition and sustainment business over the next ten years.

The DMO Materiel Graduate Scheme (MGS) provides you with the opportunity to use the skills you acquired at university, while building on your experiences, to contribute to nationally significant projects supporting the ADF.
The 18 month MGS offers great opportunities, including:
- three work rotations, at various locations around Australia (including Canberra, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and Newcastle)
- relocation assistance for interstate rotations
- choosing your second and third rotation

EligibilityTo be eligible for DMO’s Materiel Graduate Scheme you must:
- be an Australian citizen
- have completed a minimum of an Australian recognised undergraduate degree in the last 5 years
- have obtained a credit average or above during your degree
- be willing to relocate and complete at least one rotation in Canberra
