I know this is a new service gang and we are all a little tentative, but make sure you take full advantage of having someone like Belinda on here to answer your queries. It is always better to get information straight from the employer than anyone else..

Thanks Belinda for getting on board!
Cheers,

Adam

Hi Tom,

Great to hear from you!

Our marketing team don't have a vacationer or graduate program but they do offer entry level positions. These roles are advertised on an adhoc basis, when we're filling a replacement role or growing the team. You can keep an eye on our website for options.

If you're not interested in going into the marketing area, you may wish to consider a vacationer program in Assurance, Tax, Transactions or Advisory. We are currently recruiting for our Vacationer Program, which is open to penultimate year students, including Bachelor of Commerce.

Applications will close in August or Septemeber (depending on the location) and you can apply online

Dear Belinda,

I currently study Master of Business in University of Queensland and looking for a summer vacation position.

I had one year experience working in Ernst & Young Vietnam in Assurance and Advisory, would my experience in Vietnam be useful when applying in Australia?

Thanks,

Phoebe

Dear Belinda,
I am an Engineering/Science student and was wondering what opportunities there were for in the summer vacation project. What sort of projects would I be involved in?
Thanks

Hi belinda,

I graduated in 2008, and hold a IT degree. I'm on a bridging visa awaiting residency. Am I eligible to apply for E&Y?

Hi Phoebe,

I would always encourage everyone to include their past work experience when submitting an application form.

Our Brisbane Vacationer Program is currently open and accepting applications from penultimate year students. The closing date is 12:00 noon, 26 August 2010 and you can apply online at http://www.ey.com/au/careers

Hi Cookie,

As you have graduate in 2008, you are no longer eligible for our student programs. You may want to look at our Experienced job vacancies (available at http://www.ey.com/au/careers as I know they are looking for people with IT degrees.

Good luck!

Hi U4301735,

Depending on which city you're applying to, you may want to consider either our Tax Research & Development area or Advisory. Not all cities offer these business areas, so you may need to search for them.

Both areas look for students with an engineering and/or science backgorund. You may work with clients in those industries and you'll use your degree to apply your knowledge to meet their needs. It's a great question to ask your interviewer if you're successful in your application.

Our summer vacationer program is currently recruiting and applications will close soon. Check out http://www.ey.com/au/careers for dates and to apply.

Hi Peter,

We do encourage students with a mathematics degree to apply to our Actuarial Services group. At the moment, these positions are only available in our Melbourne and Sydney offices. We have filled all our 2011 Graduate Program positions in Actuarial Services earlier this year.

We'll be recruiting for our 2012 Graduate Program in February/March next year.

Hi Belinda,
I'm in the 3rd year of International Business and gonna take the internship next year. I am a full-time international student. My major is Finance. Can I apply to Ernst & Young for an internship position? And, it would be great if you can tell me more any special requirements and tips to win that position.

Thank you,
Teresa

Hi Andy,

No, in my opinion, I don't believe you're at a disadvantage with a non-commerce undergraduate degree. If you look at our Ernst & Young website and job descriptions, we are looking for students from a wide range of degree backgrounds.

We do accept postgraduate students who are in their penultimate year of study.

Hi Teresa,

Thanks for your post. At Ernst & Young, we have an international student criteria for our vacationer and graduate roles, and having an accounting major is part of that requirement.

Unfortunately we don't acccept finance students, so I'd recommend that you look for other employers that do, or you can approach an Ernst & Young office in your home country if you're looking to do an internship.

Hi Belinda

I'm an international student who wants to apply for E&Y graduate program. I've an overall IELTS score of 8.5. I have applied for my PR but not got it till now. Are you very very strict on the individual IELTS module score that you've mentioned on your website ? Because someone like me despite having a good score misses the mark by just 0.5 in speaking !! I still tried applying but after putting in my IELTS score your job portal refused my application. Shouldn't this criteria be a little more flexible ?

Regards
Rishi

Hello! At Ernst & Young, we don't offer any vacation/intern/work experience placements in our HR department. We do have a business unit called Human Capital, in our Tax group that recruit HR students. More information on this area can be found at our website http://www.ey.com/AU/en/...x/OptionA_Human-Capital

All the best, Belinda
