what are the skills the recruiters look for in a graduate...i am having experience of less than 2 years do i qualify for as a graduate

Hi Yash, being a graduate we don't expect too much experience, we understand that you've been busy with your study. We do however look for internships/vacation work that you have been involved in. You would still qualify as a graduate with 2 years experience. We look for a number of things including your ability to work in teams, communication, initiative, and leadership. We ask you for past experiences to demonstrate you have these attributes.

In terms of career development, we place all of our Engineering graduates on our PDP program with Engineers Australia, establish mentor and buddy programs, on-project development as well as online and instructor led training courses relating to your discipline and career progression.

Hi Adam
I have always found the hoover dam project very interesting and know that Bechtel were involved with that. Is it a good idea to know about some of the projects that Bechtel have been involved in if I were to have an interview? Can you give me some examples of other global projects that I could look at?

Hi d.gallagher, really good question! Research is one of the most important aspects of interview preparation, particularly past projects we have been involved in. Hi Adam,
I'm studying civil engineering and currently in my final year. I don't have any relevant work experience say vacation work or internship but I do have three years of experience in retail. Will not having relevant work experience is a great disadvantage in acquiring graduate position ??

Hi manusimar, it will be a disadvantage from the rest of the field as a lot of graduates do have work experience. Try to get some if you are able as this will increase your chances of being employed.

i do have experience working in a group of team, done some leadership role and being a solo engineer took lot of initiative too. have been looking for engineering career. Really wanted to be part of Bechtel as i have gone through history and projects undertaken...
